‘ GenZ TV is TikTok’

Short Form Video Streaming TikTok is evolving into an "entertainment platform" for watching TV series or movies. Some users are watching episodes repeatedly a week on TikTok. If you search for the latest content such as "Barbie" or "Moving" on TikTok, you can easily see short clips that are less than 10 minutes in addition to challenges and meme videos. But most of these are illegal(copyright infringement). The TikTok account, which post short-form clips of movies or dramas, has tens of millions of subscribers.

Hollywood studios also use TikTok for promotions. NBCUniversal's streaming service Peacock distributes short foam clips directly to TikTok. They also tried to communicate with the younger generation by launching some episodes of "Killing It" and "Love Island USA" on TikTok. These contents became a big promotion as they rode TikTok algorithms. NBCUniversal is looking to drum up new interest in Craig Robinson comedy Killing It ahead of its season two launch on Peacock. Before airing season two, its first season will air select episodes across TikTok, Youtube. It will also be available for free on Peacock.

Short clips of Korean dramas can also be easily found on TikTok. The reason why TikTok dramas are increasing is that TikTok has fully established itself as an entertainment platform for the younger generation.
